Most of the 232 pieces in this book, dating from 1738 to 1911, were from Jiang Hua, Yong Zhou Fu, Hunan Province. This distinguishes them from the Yao ceremonial paintings found in Thailand, which are featured in Jacques Lemoine's book, Yao Ceremonial Paintings.
