records a total of 302 known species (subspecies) of amphibians in China, including 3 new species and 1 new genus. Each species is accompanied by color illustrations, textual descriptions, distribution maps, as well as identification keys for the main characteristics of classes, orders, families, and genera, along with keys for adults, tadpoles, and egg masses at various taxonomic levels. The book contains 449 morphological drawings, including 360 color illustrations and 89 stipple drawings, the vast majority of which are drawn based on specimens from the type locality, topotype, or near-topotype localities. An index of Chinese names and Latin scientific names is also provided at the end of the book.
