Across China on Foot details Dingle's journey across China, including his experiences traveling the Yangtze River and then by foot through remote areas eventually reaching Burma. He traveled extensively with Samuel Pollard to some of the Miao areas in Yunnan and Guizhou, especially in Zhaotong (昭通). He provides insights into Chinese culture, daily life, and the country's changes in the early 20th century.
My Life in Tibet chronicles Dingle's time in Tibet, where he encountered Tibetan culture and spirituality. He describes his interactions with lamas (Tibetan monks) and his studies of Tibetan Buddhism. He shares personal experiences of his spiritual awakening and learning from his teachers.
