Based on in-depth field research, this work systematically documents the batik techniques and cultures of multiple ethnic minorities in Guizhou and other southwestern regions, including the Gejia, Raojia, Xiaohua Miao, Buyi, and Waishu Miao peoples. The book is divided into two volumes: 1st volume, titled "Interviews & Discourses," contains valuable firsthand research materials, historical information (such as the ancient term "laxie" and discoveries along the Silk Road), and related academic discussions; the 2nd Volume, titled "Illustrated Catalogue," brings together a rich collection of photographic images of batik artifacts, showcasing various patterns, including butterfly and dragon motifs, along with their cultural symbolism, and provides detailed explanations of the unique craftsmanship (such as the formation of "ice cracks").
